To keep Operating Engineers up to speed with training on the latest GPS equipment, the IUOE National Training Fund offers comprehensive Train-the-Trainer courses for IUOE instructors. The 2016 conference was the largest to date, with over 1,500 registered attendees, including Operating Engineers from various locals around the country. Representing Operating Engineers Local 3, were apprenticeship coordinators Cat Lytle and Holly Brown. Also attending were journeylevel Operator Kristi Tuemmler and Apprentice Meg-Ann Pryor. Women came from all over the United States, as well as Australia, Canada, India, Nigeria and the Philippines, to get tools and information to further their careers. Tradeswomen from some countries discussed their battles, which women in the U.S. have already won, like being excluded from skilled trade positions.
